Once
the capital of the powerful Zamorins and a prominent centre of trade
and commerce, Kozhikode was the most important region of Malabar in
the days gone by. Today, it has lush green country sides, serene

unique culture and a warm, friendly ambience make Kozhikode a
popular destination.Renowned Portuguese navigator Vasco Da Gama
landed at Kappad Beach 1498 and from than onwards it became the
centre of trade.
