Shanthitheeram, partly carved out of Pathinarukettu (traditional houses of the rich which existed long back) that existed couple of centuries ago in the Southern tip of Kerala and partly constructed through neo method of architectural resplendence is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Shanthitheeram is a lakeside Heritage Resort in Puthanangadi, west of Kumarakom in Alappuzha district in Kerala.
All the rooms, be it in Pathinarukettu or modern ones have attached bathrooms, having cold and hot running water. The rooms are also connected with cable network and have an uninterrupted power supply. Arrangement for meetings and seminars are also done.
Shanthitheeram delights include Kanji (rice gruel), Sadya (feast) made for each other combination of Kappa and meen curry (tapioca and fish curry). Lake fishes like Karimeen, mussels, lobster, shrimp and crab are others specialties of Shanthitheeram.
